APPLYING TO UNIVERSITIES
The choice in the U.K. is immense. There are over 50,000 degree courses on offer in British universities and over 300 institutions in the UCAS scheme – the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. Students can only apply to five. Choosing which degree courses are the most suitable in terms of the subject/s, the entrance requirements, the chances of being made an offer of a place, the quality of the teaching, as well as the university’s location and environment is a complex business. The education consultancy offers in depth advice to students on all of these aspects of the application process.
We also advise students on how to write effective personal statements and how to prepare for any entrance tests such as the LNAT (Law), BMAT / UKCAT (Medicine), TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment), STEP / MAT (Mathematics), PAT (Physics) which are required by leading universities and medical schools.
APPLICATIONS TO U.K. UNIVERSITIES: EUROPEANS
The consultancy is accredited by UCAS and so students are able to apply to university through the consultancy in the same way as if they were attending a British school. For European students taking exams such as the ITALIAN ESAME DI STATO, French or Belgian Baccalaureat, we are able to advise on the equivalence of their exam grades with U.K. entrance requirements. We liaise with schools regarding academic references; we arrange for them to be translated; we monitor each student’s university offers and advise students throughout the ten months of the application process until they have firmly accepted a place and secured accommodation. Throughout the application process, if students have any queries, they are able to contact their UCAS Consultant by Skype at pre-set times.
EU students are CURRENTLY eligible for a tuition fee loan of up to £9,250 per annum which covers the entire cost of university tuition fees. You start to repay any loans plus interest after you HAVE GRADUATED AND ARE EARNING MORE THAN £25,000

Students from India, Sri Lanka, the United States, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, the Caribbean, Brunei, Iran, Israel, Mauritius, Morocco, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, Uganda and Zimbabwe are normally able to apply through UCAS on the basis of their school leaving exams.
Students from countries not listed above will be advised where they can do a pre-university preparation year at a tutorial college or university.
OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE
We advise students on which university to apply to and which colleges to consider. Students are advised how to improve their chances of being offered a place. We are able to arrange intensive tuition to help students prepare for interviews and entrance exams. Each applicant is also given lists of interview questions, a reading list in relation to their degree subjects as well as links to various relevant online lectures. Mock interviews are arranged with experienced Oxbridge Admissions Tutors and degree subject specialists who give feedback and suggestions for improving performance.
The education consultancy advises students on Art Foundation applications and offers advice regarding the applicant’s portfolio. Tuition in art is also available with a very experienced A Level Art tutor. Mock interviews can be arranged with HANNAH RICKARDS, Lecturer at Central St Martin’s School of Art, to help students develop their critical awareness and verbal confidence before the actual interview.
Students applying for highly competitive courses such as medicine, veterinary science, engineering, history of art or architecture courses are also able to arrange mock interviews in person or by Skype. Information about how to prepare for interviews and sample interview questions are included in each student’s University Applications Report.
APPLICATIONS TO EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES
The consultancy is able to advise on applications to leading European universities such as Maastricht, Amsterdam University College, LUC The Hague, and The Bocconi, Milan which offer degree courses taught in English. Tuition fees in Europe are much lower than in England. These universities also have two start dates each year – September and January / February.
